Photography & Film

The art of witnessing.

I discovered a love of creating through photography and film at a young age. It's something I've returned to time and again throughout my life.

For almost a decade, I had the privilege of co-creating with some of Perth's finest, alongside extraordinary people from around the world. Whether capturing portraits, events, performances or documenting stories, what I loved most was recognising the light, beauty and humanity in front of me, and reflecting it back through the lens.

A car accident in 2021 brought that chapter to an unexpected pause. Whiplash meant putting down my beloved Nikon D5 and allowing my body time to recover.

As it turns out, I just needed to wait for technology to create something even better, without quite so much weight! (Haha.)

And now, I'm genuinely excited to return to photography and film, to collaborate, experiment, explore and create again.

My approach remains much as it always was. I love natural light, authentic expression, the unexpected moments between the posed ones, and the stories that unfold when people feel comfortable simply being themselves.

I'm interested in more than beautiful images. I'm interested in the lives behind them, the moments worth remembering and the stories worth preserving.

An especially meaningful part of my previous work has been creating legacy films, recording people's life stories, memories and wisdom in their own words. I've had the privilege of doing this for many people, preserving not only their stories but their voices, expressions and presence for the people they love and the generations who follow.

It's work I'm particularly looking forward to returning to. There is something extraordinary about giving someone the opportunity to tell their own story, knowing that one day those recordings may become among their family's most treasured possessions.

Cherish You - Legacy Films

Your voice. Your stories. Your way.

Imagine being able to see the person you love. To hear their voice, their stories, witness their mannerisms, long after they’ve gone. And to revisit them as often as you want to.

That’s what a legacy film offers. It brings the real person into the room, in all of their ‘human-ness’, and the raw and messy beauty of everything they were.

How it began

Cherish You - Legacy was born when my own grandparents were not long for this earth, and I wanted to record their stories for my children and my children’s children. Rather than just hearing about a relative who had passed, my children got to experience their great grandparents, through watching them share stories about their lifetimes.

Since then I have been blessed to record many people, some facing challenging health issues and leaving young children behind, others in their elder years wanting to leave a memento for everyone they love.

What happens

  • We talk. A relaxed, guided conversation, usually around an hour and a half to two hours, with questions about your childhood, your loves, your lessons and the messages you’d like to leave.

  • I weave it together. I edit your stories with photographs, favourite pieces of music and newspaper clippings into a keepsake film.

  • Your family keeps it. A priceless heirloom to be treasured, watched, and shared, including at a Celebration of Life if you’d like.

Everyone I’ve recorded has told me they felt ‘lighter’ afterwards. The process itself can be an honouring journey, a chance to see your life’s path with clarity.

Who it’s for

Anyone with stories worth keeping: someone facing a diagnosis, a grandparent, a parent, a friend, or someone who simply wants to leave messages, just in case.

Where it happens

In your home, or wherever you live, somewhere you feel comfortable and like yourself. And I love to travel, so wherever you are, ask me.

Your keepsake

Your film is delivered on a beautifully curated wood and crystal USB. Extras are available to purchase too, so you can share your story with the people who matter most.
